My Sheep Hear My Voice: an excerpt from Darrell Benton’s New Book “Heal the Sick”
When I am out in public, I usually make it a point to ask the Holy Spirit for a word of knowledge for someone who needs healing in his or her body. Most of the time, I’ll hear the Holy Spirit’s voice clearly. The Holy Spirit will point out an individual to me that I am supposed to minister to. This is a subtle thing where I look around the room, see someone and feel like this is the right one to minister to. Once this takes place, I will typically ask the person whether or not he or she has any pain in a particular area of his or her body. Sometimes, I just know where their pain is, while other times, I can feel their pain in the same area on my own body. Seldom might I get this information wrong. In these instances, the person may look at me funny and say “No” when asked about their pain. Of course this situation would make any person feel awkward, especially when they’re first starting to walk in God’s commandment to heal His people. However, when you get past thinking of yourself in these situations, you can feel the love of God saying that He is proud of you for stepping out and for caring more about kingdom advancements than about yourself. I don’t ever want to miss out on God telling me to go and approach someone on His behalf. Therefore, I will step out even if I’m not 100% sure. Just remember, He rewards those who are obedient to Him.
